They were caring and thorough. And I appreciate that they were looking out for other issues besides my initial complaint, to help keep me healthy.
not impressed. granted moving to this town from a metro area in FL its a little culture shock but im no stranger to the sticks! i saw "Mr." Dr. George 2x and i had forwarded "ALL" my records from "ALL" my Dr's, specialists and labs and everything i could think of due to ongoing medical issues and medical history. both times i saw him it seemed like he couldnt understand why i was even there- his questioning and the way he answered my questions, he made me feel like i had no idea what i was talking about, i felt dumb talking to him. hes trying to tell me he doesnt have any of my records regarding a surgery i had done 2 yeas ago and that the ovary they couldnt find must have been taken when i had my surgery. my surgen, after i healed, did an ultrasound and he showed me specifically that i had 2 ovaries... so i guess my ovary is out on vacation?!! that my old back injury from a major car accident 20+ years ago is nothing to worry about--- he had the galls to ask- "well, what do you think i should do to make sure your ok?" well, how about you do your job and curb the arrogance! "I" had to ask for an x-ray but i would have preferred a CT scan since my back injury dealt with some major nerve and tissue damage, with complications of disk degen- disease and arthritis... but he doesnt have thoes records! i also took my 4 year old twins to see Mr & Mrs Dr George both for whooping cough which was later diagnosed by Keystone Health as croop. one of my kids is still sick after more than 2 wks and i even took her back to see George but again he seemed like he couldnt understand why i was bringing my child back in! i guess i wont bother unless im DIE-ing and even then ill go out of my way to go to the ER for now on!
My son and I both see Dr. McDermott as our primary care physician. He is excellent! He has gone above and beyond for any health issues or concerns. He is thorough and truly cares for his patients issues . I would recommend Dr. McDermott and Mercersburg Summit Primary Care to anyone in need of a local doctor who knows what they are doing.
